Kimberly A. Clisbee

Kimberly A. Clisbee | Philosopher of Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement, Doctor of Law and Public Policy/Communication Technologies

Between 1992 and 2000, Kimberly A. Clisbee worked as a semiconductor manufacturer for the microchip industry, which sparked her interest in computer technology and communications. She intended on going to school at Northeastern University to become a semiconductor engineer, but was given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live her dream and become a professional martial artist. She put her engineering passions on the back burner to enjoy a decade-long career teaching Shaolin Kempo. During her martial arts career, she earned a third-degree black belt and, in 2009, was inducted into the World Martial Arts Federation Hall of Fame. Ms. Clisbee interacted with many cultures, working as a martial artist and even studying abroad in a remote village in Negros Occidental Philippines for a month in 2009.

The events of 9/11 led Ms. Clisbee to her career in criminal justice and national security, and fueled her passion to make the country a safer place through improved government policy and technological advancement. After 9/11, she saw the heartache her Muslim students suffered, especially the children, and decided to become an FBI agent, so she could help in any way she could. In 2010, an unfortunate life event forced her to put her FBI career plans on hold and become a home health aide to nurse her disabled child. It was her daughter’s struggle to get proper medical care and appropriate community services that prompted her to become an advocate for the disabled community. She has gotten adaptive swings put in local parks, encouraged the school department to change policies, and is constantly raising awareness to benefit the disabled and marginalized communities.

In order to expand on her skill sets, Ms. Clisbee has garnered several certifications in higher education, government technologies, Blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, CPR, and health care through such institutions as MIT Sloan School of Management, the California Department of Public Health and HarvardX. She is scheduled to attend UCS to complete a 24-week communication boot camp after her PhD course. To remain abreast of her field, she maintains membership with Alpha Beta Kappa, Alpha Sigma Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the California Women’s League, the Golden Key International Honor Society, the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement, as well as the World Martial Arts Federation.

Today, Ms. Clisbee works as a home health aide for ASAP Nursing and Staffing Agency while she completes her PhD course and her first novel on the socioeconomics of modern society. In addition, she is conducting her second quantitative study on prison reform as a requirement for her PhD, but hopes to continue her project beyond college. As a philosopher in criminal justice and law enforcement, her ultimate professional goal is to work with the government to improve systems, make processes safer, and get communities involved by decentralizing various procedures through smart cities and technology. In the next five to 10 years, Ms. Clisbee aims to be an established college professor while also working in public policy.
